HOW TO PREPARE ILA ADA || ELA ADA
ELA ADA IS A TRADITIONAL KERALA DISH AND AN EVENING SNACK FOR YOUR CHILDREN. THE ELEGANCE OF BANANA LEAF GIVE THIS ADA A VIBRANT TASTE AND RICHNESS OF COCONUT WITH GUD (MOLASSES- RAW SUGAR) TAKE IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL.
INGREDIENTS
1. COCONUT GRATED - 2 CUPS
2. GUD OR JAGGERY - GRATED - 1 CUP
3. SALT FOR TASTE
4. ELAICHI
5. RICE POWDER - 02 CUPS
6. WATER - 1/2 CUP
7. BANANA LEAF - MEDIUM PIECES-10 NOS.
MEHTOD OF PREPARATION :-
MIX GRATED COCONUT AND GUD OR JAGGERY WELL IN A BOWL WITH SPOON.
ADD PINCH OF SALT.
ADD SOME ELAICHI OR ELAICHI POWDER
AFTER MIXING IT PROPERLY KEEP ASIDE THE MIX.
TAKE RICE POWDER 02 CUPS IN A BOWL AND ADD SALT 1/2 TBSP AND PREPARE DOUGH AFTER ADDING REQUIRED WATER. THE DOUGH SHOULD NOT BE TOO LOOSE AND TOO DRY KEEP LITTLE BIT SMOOTH,
BANANA LEAF TO BE HEATED A LITTLE BIT TO SMOOTHEN THE LEAF FOR FOLDING AND SPREAD THE DOUGH ON THE LEAF PIECE FULLY.
SPREAD THE COCONUT & GOOD MIX ON THE TOP OF THE DOUGH SPREAD ON THE LEAF.
DO THIS FOR ALL THE LEAF LEFT OUT TILL THE DOUGH LASTS.
FOLD THE LEAF ALONG WITH DOUGH AND COCONUT MIX INSIDE FROM THE MIDDLE.
KEEP TO STEAM FOR 20 MINUTES IN A VESSEL AND CHECK WITH TBSP WHETHER IT IS BOILED PROPERLY. IF NOT BOILED THEN STEAM IT AGAIN.
SWITCH OFF THE COOKER AND REMOVE THE LID AND TAKE OUT THE ELA ADA AND REMOVE THE LEAF (ELA) AND PLACE THE ADA ON A PLATE AND SERVE HOT WITH TEA.
